Every project starts with an idea.
Unlike many fabricators who begin with detailed drawings, this trailer was designed entirely from scratch.
Jeff visualises the finished product in his head, then works through the construction one piece at a time.
As the build progresses, we continually assess, refine and modify the design to suit the components we are restoring and any new challenges that arise.
The chassis was fabricated from box section steel, creating a strong, durable foundation for the restored Wisconsin welder.
The deck was made from heavy-gauge steel plate recovered from an old industrial tank purchased at auction specifically for its scrap steel.
Rather than buying new materials, we enjoy giving quality steel a second life.
The trailer also incorporates a refurbished jockey wheel salvaged from half of an old boat trailer,
proving that with a little ingenuity, many discarded parts can be transformed into reliable components once again.
Every weld, measurement and modification was completed in our workshop, resulting in a purpose-built trailer that is both practical and built to last.
Like all of our restorations, this project reflects our philosophy of recycling, repurposing and creating something useful from materials that others might overlook.
